4 DAYS MOUNT KENYA SIRIMON TREK
 

ITINERARY OVERVIEW

 

The Sirimon route is the relatively used by mount kenya climbers of the three main routes, and it features the most gradual ascent profile and best for acclimatisation options. The route passes through very impressive Yellowwood forests in the lower reaches and features abundant wildlife and beautiful alpine scenery higher up. The Austrian Hut and Point Lenana are reached from the head of Mackinder's Valley via Simba Col.

    Day 1: Nairobi - Nanyuki

    Departure from Nairobi is at 07:30 hrs. To Nanyuki and stop at the Equator briefly if time permits. Continue to Nanyuki town, the base town for mount kenya trekking where you check in your hotel. Afternoon is spent to acclimatize for the hike. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

    Day 2: Nanyuki - Old Moses

    After breakfast, vehicle transfer to Sirimon park gate where you leave the vehicle to start your hike to Old Moses camp for overnight (3300m), 5 to 6 hrs. Hikes, dinner and overnight at the old Moses camp.

    Day 3: Old Moses Camp - Shipton's Camp

    After breakfast hike to Ship ton’s camp (4200m) with lunch enroute. Overnight at the Shiptoms camp (5 to 6 hrs. hikes) dinner and overnight at the ship tons camp.

    Day 4: Shipton's Camp - Point Lenana - Nairobi

    Wake up early at 2.00 am attempt point Lenana (4985m) at 03:00 hrs. And descend directly to ship tons camp for breakfast then proceed to sirimon park gate to connect your transfer back to Nairobi arriving late in the afternoon with sweet memories.
