Lake Baringo Club

Location: The club is a neat compact hotel situated on the shores of Lake Baringo. Nairobi is 4 hours drive by road. The lake is an ornithological paradise with over 460 bird species recorded. On the shores of Lake Baringo, 285 kms northwest of Nairobi.

Lake Baringo Club nestles amongst palm trees, green lawns and the clashing pinks, purples, reds and oranges of bougainvillea obviously thriving in the hot steamy days that characterise so many of the Great Rift Valley's lakes.

Mirroring the surrounding Tugen Hills and Laikipia Escarpment, the lake owes its chocolate colour to the rivers that feed it - all carrying plenty of top soil. Hippo and crocodile share this watery residence with tilapia, mud fish, bass cat fish and an enormous variety of birds

Accommodation: Rooms are cool and comfortable with a central overhead fan, mosquito nets and a decent shower. Each room has a newsletter with details of what's nesting where in the hotel grounds.

Facilities: Bird walks by a resident ornithologist . Other amenities include swimming pools, restaurants, bars, boat rides in lake Baringo and a children's theme park. The club also offers conference and meeting facilities for small groups.
